14U Earns a Berth at Nationals!

UTICA, NY — Congratulations to our 14U tournament-bound team on making it to the finals of the New York State Championships and earning a berth in the National Championships!

In the opening game at States, the Stars were outmatched by the Canton Blades, the #3-ranked 14U Tier II girls team in the nation, but the Stars went on to defeat the NY Islanders 6-4 and the powerful Saugerties Fillies 2-1 to finish second in their bracket and earn a spot in the crossovers against Mamaroneck Stateline.

In the semi-final game, the Stars and Stateline ended regulation tied 2-2. In overtime, the Stars capitalized on a 5-on-3 powerplay for a dramatic win and a place in the State finals!

In the finals, the Stars were again defeated by the Canton Blades, but as finalists at the State Championships, the 14U Stars have punched their ticket to the 2026 Chipotle-USA Hockey National Championships from March 25th-29th in Rochester, Michigan. Congratulations to head coach Alex Hayes, assistant coaches Sean Anderson, Alex Chang, Stephen Vergamini, Jillian Woods, and Andrew Zimmerman, team manager Tom Hall, locker room monitors Erica Anderson, Tracy Pierce, and Megan Turnbull, every 14U family, and above all, our amazing group of players on such an outstanding accomplishment!
