Girls Try Hockey for Free!

In partnership with USA Hockey and the New York State Amateur Hockey Association, Tompkins Girls Hockey Association is hosting a Girls Try Hockey for Free event on Saturday, September 12th from 9:30-10:45am at the Rink in Ithaca, New York. Come try hockey in a fun, safe, and supportive environment under the supervision of certified coaches.

While the primary target ages are four to nine, girls who are 10+ are more than welcome. At TGHA, we believe it's never too late to start playing the great sport of ice hockey!

No experience or equipment necessary! You don't even need to know how to skate. With help from the NYSAHA Central Section equipment trailer, TGHA will provide everything you need to get on the ice, including sticks, skates, and helmets, as well as jerseys and socks. We will start handing out equipment at 8:30am. Make sure you arrive in time to gear up!

Come dressed in a T-shirt and shorts or long underwear. If you prefer, wear a moisture-wicking shirt and hockey compression shorts with pelvic protection.

In addition to coaches, TGHA players will be on hand to help your daughter get a feel for the game. Come out for a fun morning of hockey and the chance to learn more about Tompkins Girls Hockey Association!
