Frequently Asked Questions
Can my daughter join TGHA if she's never played hockey before?
There may be opportunities to learn to play hockey with one of our teams, especially if your daughter is younger and has skated before. Please inquire at tghahockey@gmail.com. If your family is new to hockey, here are some fun tips from USA Hockey!
What equipment does my daughter need to play hockey?
Players are required to have their own skates, helmet, face mask, gloves, pelvic protector, hockey pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, neck guard, and mouth guard--and her own hockey stick!
What color equipment should my daughter have?
Players at 12U and above on full-season teams, including those who are dual-rostered, must have black or dark blue helmets, gloves, and hockey pants. Black or dark blue equipment is recommended for younger players.
How do we order uniforms?
Players at 12U, 14U, and 16U, including those who are dual-rostered, are required to purchase personalized home and away jerseys and matching socks. Uniforms can be ordered during registration. Players at other age levels will be provided with loaner jerseys and, if available, socks.
When can we register for the 2025-26 season?
Registration for next season will open in late June. Be on the lookout for more information.
What is included with my registration fee?
Season registration covers the cost of ice for all regular practices and games. It also includes regular SpeedSkills sessions for those at 10U and up, as well as our home tournament and the entry fee for one other tournament for full-season teams. Families are responsible for travel and accommodations throughout the season as well as the entry fees for additional tournaments.
How much fundraising will be expected of every family?
Fundraising helps to keep the cost of registration lower. Every family will be asked to help with fundraising efforts during our home tournament, the Kevin R. Talty Shooting Stars Tournament, and one other fundraiser during the season.
How can I get involved with TGHA?
